Shirley Robertson
Funeral Home Organist
info@stoddartfh.com | 705-324-3205
In 1988, Shirley received a telephone call from James Mackey, Sr. asking if she would play for a funeral at the Mackey Funeral Home. 2024 was the beginning of thirty-five years being the organist.
Previously, Shirley and her children returned home from Liberia, West Africa following the death of her missionary husband, Rev. Don Collins. He was a bush pilot as well and during one of his flights the plane crashed, killing him and his two passengers.
Shirley worked in the library at Fleming College for a few years, and then became a Church secretary. Bob Robertson and Shirley married in 1977. During these years, she was blessed to to have worked as Organist and Music Director for several churches, including Lindsay, Omemee and Peterborough.
Shirley has a very supportive family... a daughter, a son and his wife, as well as two grandsons, and four great granddaughters. They all share the love of music!
Shirley feels honoured to have played the organ for many grieving families who have wanted the comfort of music to celebrate their loved ones.
